After Effects beginner here.

The effect I'm after is where text is appearing from behind an object. So far, I'm using the position and rotation parameters.

But the text is rigid. I found something about having text along a path which is what I want except I haven't found out how to work it in 3D.

Here is what I have so far. I need the text to look like it's bending as it comes around the ... well, bend!

Can anyone help me?

There is a CG Artists proposal in Area 51 for questions like these that needs followers. area51.stackexchange.com/proposals/38889/cg-artists – ckpepper02 Apr 24 at 20:32

I don't think this is the best place to post this. There is an audio-visual stack exchange that seems more suitable for this subject.

That being said: It doesn't seem like after effects is the best program to do this in. I am not sure of which version of after effects you are working in, so I am assuming you are using a version before CS6 (which has loads more 3d tools).

You could pull this effect off in 2d space by using a distortion effect or something along those lines.

Hope I helped!
