I've watched five youtube tutorials on how to curve text, it seems quite simple. Select pen tool, make sure paths is select, make path.. then take text tool.. hover on an anchor, squiggly line will appear.. click and type. everything works except when i click and type, nothing appears.. text color is black. i don't get it, this is driving me crazy! :)

"squiggly line" makes me think you're talking Illustrator so ... First, check that none of your type settings are preventing you from seeing your typed text (no fill, 0% opacity, tiny size, whatever). One way to see if it's just a visual thing is to switch your view to outline: View menu > Outline (cmd+Y). That will give nice black visible characters regardless of appearance. Second, make sure there's no 'overflow' symbol (red square with red plus sign) on the path when you start typing. That can also happen if your type settings are off: point size too big to fit the path, start and end points are too close together, etc. Lastly, you're doing something wrong ;) Start with the basics here at Adobe's help page on the subject or WikiHow's more visual approach. Videos are great but it's easy to miss something. |
