I want to add html5 widget to an ebook created in Adobe Indesign like in iBooks Author. Is it possible? How can I do this?

Thanks.

The short answer, as far as I can tell, is no.

The ability of an iBook to display HTML5 widgets has everything to do with the format in which it's exported and the software that's reading that format. iBooks has a proprietary extension and a proprietary reader.

My point is that if iBooks exported to vanilla ePub and the widgets worked in different ePub readers, then it might be possible to do the same sort of thing in InDesign (though it'd have to be via a plugin, because I know of no such native feature in InDesign). But that isn't the case.
