Was trying to figure out how to make an image transparent and an trying to work with the layers screen to add a transparent layer to the image I have.

But for some reason I also have the magic-eraser options up, and they seem to be messing up how I work with layers.

Here is what my screen looks like: enter image description here

What I actually really need to do is just adjust this image because the place where I was trying to upload it says "the image must contain transparency and non-opaque pixels were created"

Thanks in advance!

I'm sorry, this makes no sense. Your screen shot does not indicate the Magic Erasure is the active tool. In fact, it would indicate a Shape Tool or the Pen Tool is active. I have no clue what you are asking here. – Scott Jan 4 at 17:36
@Scott sorry, I may be mid-naming things because I am so inexperienced with photoshop. I essentially need to make that image transparent - how could I do that? Thank you :) and sorry for my general not-smartness when it comes to photoshop :) – Genadinik Jan 4 at 17:38
That's what your other question was. Please stick to one question. – Scott Jan 4 at 17:41
@scott sorry, you are right. Heading back to the other question... :) – Genadinik Jan 4 at 17:42

It's difficult to tell what is being asked here. This question is ambiguous, vague, incomplete, overly broad, or rhetorical and cannot be reasonably answered in its current form. For help clarifying this question so that it can be reopened, see the FAQ.

I'm not sure what you mean by the Magic Eraser, but I do notice that you've got the animation and video UI open and your toolbar closed. Neither of these should prevent you from working with images normally, but they may be getting in the way or causing confusion.

I recommend resetting your Workspace (Adobe's term for the layout of the UI and what is visible) by clicking on the menu that says 'Essentials' at the top right of your screen and choosing 'Reset Essentials'. This will return Photoshop's UI state to exactly as it was when you first installed it, which should hopefully clear this up.

If I am getting this right you need to follow the below screen shot.

First make visible your tools so you can know what is selected and what is not.

enter image description here

by this you will see options and there sub-options. you are probably having magic eraser tool selected always.

enter image description here

after seeing these options you can select other tools for erasing.

Hope this will help.
