The list can go on.. but those sites are simply beautiful, mostly due to their quality images and backgrouns.

Could you elaborate more on what you need advise? Image editing? Background creation? Website layout? Colour picking? Photoshop help? Specifying the elements that each of those websites have in common? Photo editing (why? I see only one photograph on those sites)? In its current form your question is a bit vague. – koiyu Apr 7 '11 at 13:21
Also, I would add, the graphics used on those sites look more vector-like, so Illustrator over Photoshop might be a better weapon of choice when trying to achieve the same look. – koiyu Apr 7 '11 at 13:22

Uh, no, there is no 'secret'. Good design comes from good designers. Good designers come years of education, training and experience. – DA01 Apr 7 '11 at 19:35

These sites all share a similar "web 2.0" look about them characterized by soft, bubbly, gradient, rounded layouts. Asking how it's done is pretty vague though. Some are using photographs, but other are using vector images, again in the web 2.0 style. But they are all website, so html and css is how they're done. Likely with javascript, flash, html5, who knows. Websites like those aren't made with one particular piece of software. They are an integration of lots of different skill sets coming together to create a whole.
