I have to make a book about dinosaurs, but it will be like 20-30 pages long (it's just a random school project). What would be the best size for it? Pages will contain like 2-3 small images each. The book will be intended for kids 12-15, I will add augmented reality (as that's what the project is about).

I don't want to waste a lot of money (so I would prefer something small).

How is a book using augmented reality? Isn't a book already reality? As for size, that's really entirely up to you, the designer, and what you feel is best for your audience. There is no magic 'best' size for a book, though one would typically aim for a size that will fit on your average bookshelves. – DA01 Apr 25 '11 at 2:57

I recommend looking at natural history books that have similar content and basing your size on that. Any large bookstore will offer many examples (consider the target audience when looking at examples, btw). Publishers don't tend to get this wrong (although ignore anything on the cheap books tables...) – gef05 Apr 25 '11 at 14:05

About the size of a Hesperonychus elizabetha. Anything larger than that will be too heavy to carry around.

If it's augmented reality can't you make the book as small as the code that grounds the projection?
