I have been thinking for a long time but still could not get an idea on how to design my logo.

Basically, I need to mix a hexagon picture (or more hexagons) and the letter 'A' together.

Does anyone have any idea of how to style the letter 'A' in hexagons or making 'A' with small hexagons?

I'm sure there are many who would offer guidance, but can you provide any more details/context? – Farray May 2 '11 at 17:59

color in the hexagons to make them look like an 'A' – DA01 May 2 '11 at 21:17
contect should be around computer or technology , also it will be good to have no colors in symbol so that it should look same even if printed black and white. i choose hxagon because in my logo animation i need to join all hexagons to make big heaxons like holography – user873424 May 3 '11 at 7:43

Alternative

Here's an idea which is basically inside the hex, with the arms parallel to the hex lines, and bisects the lines. The crossmember would be an extension of the horizontal hex lines, but in my example, it is slightly lower. The ray or halo effect which is from my cropping the image is accidental, but might actually work...

that was good , i will make thatas base and will see how it goes – user873424 May 7 '11 at 2:02
For animation, I suppose you can figure out a way to make the logo appear from overlapping hex patterns... – horatio May 10 '11 at 14:08

I don't know if this may be a bit obvious but as DA01 said, why not something like...

'A' hexagon logo

...or this lowercase version (though this might be pushing it a bit)

'a' hexagon logo

+1 for the lowercase version. – Nishant May 5 '11 at 8:58

If I understand correctly, you're fishing for some inspiration? A few ideas that come to mind:

  • rotate a single hex for each main line (e.g. one for each leg and one for the joint) toward the negative z axis
  • like above, but with a row of hexes being rotated for each main line
  • stack hexes to make the main lines
  • give the A attitude with hexagonal piercings
  • give the A a diamond earing (hexagons when zoomed in or animated.. but otherwise just a glint)
  • stack smaller hexagons on top of larger hexagons to create the pyramid shape of an A

Good luck!
