Graphic Design Stack Exchange is a question and answer site for Graphic Design professionals, students, and enthusiasts. It's 100% free, no registration required.

Google is an awesome example of this. There's very little on their website (Just the bar, logo, login button, etc) but it looks very nice and is visually appealing. I'd say that 85% of their website is blank.

However, whenever I try to make a website with a blank background it looks plain and boring. What do I do?

There are either too many possible answers, or good answers would be too long for this format. Please add details to narrow the answer set or to isolate an issue that can be answered in a few paragraphs. If this question can be reworded to fit the rules in the help center, please edit the question.

Can you provide us with a screenshot/example of a minimalist site you think looks bad? –  circuitry Jan 12 at 20:36
I don't have one right now because I deleted all of the ones I thought looked bad. –  Chipperyman Jan 12 at 20:39
this is essentially asking "how do I make a nice design" which is just too broad of a question. –  DA01 Jan 12 at 23:24
