As this picture shows, I'm not good at design at all. I'm a videographer and I'm designing a dvd case for a client. This is what I have so far. What is it missing? Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance!

Hi Andy, this is avery ambiguous question without any direct solution. "What is missing" will be different for each and every person viewing the image. You may get better results asking specific questions which have a direct answer. – Scott Mar 17 '12 at 20:41

Well "blank space" is not inherently a bad thing. It's nearly impossible, at least for me, to give any design direction without understanding the Summit and what it entailed. If it is a financial class.. then perhaps some images related to finances, for self-help the images would be completely different. For business practices you may not want to fill that white space. I understand the struggle, but without details all anyone does is guess. Imagine someone asked you to shoot a seminar.... and that's ALL the info you had. It's nearly impossible to suggest or plan accordingly. – Scott Mar 17 '12 at 21:12

1) Search for other successful examples.

2) Copy the distribution / diagram.

3) ???

4) Profit.

For example, it is the DVD Case of Ubuntu

This design is close to your design, however, the back also includes more text, the pictures are not put randomly and has the same size / proportion

ps: Also, the orange Intel x86 Edition bar is a nice touch.
