I'm looking for a way to edit photos online without having to download them and use Adobe Bridge.

Your question is a little confusing, probably due to inaccurate terminology. ftp, by definition, involves a file transfer (aka download aka upload). In fact anything you see on the internet is downloaded, even when working "online." If it were not, you would not be able to see it. So are you looking for something that works "remotely" or are you looking for a workflow that involves checking out a local copy and then updates the remote copy when you commit changes? – horatio Apr 24 '12 at 15:55
Hi Fraser, can you please edit your question to be clearer? There's an edit button below the tags. The title seems to say you want to use Adobe Bridge, the question text seems to say you want to avoid it. Do you mean, you have a remote server full of photos, and you want to manage them remotely with Adobe Bridge? If we can't tell what you mean we'll have to close the question. – user568458 Dec 20 '12 at 13:59

No. Adobe Bridge is not a photo editor, it's a cataloging application. In addition, there's no remote work environment in Adobe Bridge.
