It's an option in InDesign, CSS, and MS Word. I'm not finding it in Photoshop CS5.

Photoshop has no automated drop cap feature. You will have to create two separate text elements and "fake" the drop cap. In reality, Photoshop is not designed to be a type-intensive application. If it were, it would at least have a glyphs panel. |

Actually there is a way to automatically create drop caps in Photoshop CS5. I discovered this by accident, by somehow entering a shortcut that put the type into this mode. I still don't know what the shortcut is, but if you look in the Character panel, near the bottom there is a row of text options including Faux Italic, Faux Bold and Small Caps. |
