I'm trying to make a curvy header banner for a website, see here:


This is one of my several attempts. As you can see, the curve is not symmetrical.

What is a way that is guaranteed to get a perfect symmetrical curve?

Start off with a layer with "solid box"

( It helps if all the sides you don't want to turn into wavey lines, are at the edges of the document. )

Then go do Filter > Distort > Wave

Important parts in the filter options:

  • Number of generators: 1
  • Type: Sine

You can go nuts with the other sliders.
