Graphic Design Stack Exchange is a question and answer site for professional graphic designers and non-designers trying to do their own graphic design. It's 100% free, no registration required.

I have a friend who runs a small Pittsburgh charity that is writing a book about money to give to his clients. (He's serving an economically distressed area.) We want to make the book available on Amazon for others who might be facing similar problems.

My friend is a fantastic author, but neither of us have much of a clue about graphic design. It's a very low budget operation so whatever we can roll on our own is what we're going to go with. We'd really appreciate any kind of feedback that you all might be willing to offer.

Here's the cover as it now stands:

Seems like a worthwhile project, but this site isn't really the place for getting critique on your work. This is more of a Q&A site. – Calvin Huang Feb 6 '11 at 19:38

Good sites to get critique from include: Dribbble, DeviantArt, forr.st, behance, graphicdesignforum.com, or any other general design forum. – Calvin Huang Feb 6 '11 at 19:45

Ugly hyphenation on the back cover - "di-scovered". (Ironic that a book teaching about wealth creation has such a limited production budget.) – duncmc Feb 6 '11 at 19:47
I personally don't like the black "widescreen" effect. It'd keep it white. But yeah, as Calvin has pointed out, this is a Q&A site, not a critique site. – Johannes Feb 6 '11 at 19:52
