Questions about the automation and extending of functionality through the use of scripts within Adobe Photoshop.
Photoshop Scripting
Adobe Photoshop, like much of Adobe's Creative Suite and Creative Cloud software, is extendable through the use of scripts.
A script is a series of commands that tells Photoshop to perform one or more tasks. Scripts can be used to add functionality not easily achievable through the usual tools or to automate time consuming tasks.
Adobe Photoshop supports scripts written in AppleScript (on Mac OS), VBScript (on Windows) or JavaScript (on either OS). Sample scripts are included in the Adobe Photoshop installer and are installed with the product. More information and the latest available scripting documentation is available at the Adobe Developer Center.
