About

Transparency is the opposite of opacity.

You are able to 'see through' an object that is transparent.

The level of transparency corresponds with how much you are able to see through an object.

So if an object is semi-transparent, you would be able to see through it partially. What you are able to see will lack detail, or be distorted in some way by the semi-transparent object in front of it.
