Software to measure arc length/perimeter I haven't tried CloudCompare yet. MeshLab has a measuring tool, but it calculates only euclidean distance (straight), not arc length |

Software to measure arc length/perimeter Thank you for the detailed response! Maybe I should have provided a bit more of context. Actually the file does not come from CAD models, it's just a mesh. Opening the file is not a problem, and there are other alternatives for the format. Approximating a free-hand curve to a Cartesian equation would be more difficult than calculating manually all the distances, I suppose! Finally, I have no problem for an eventual migration of my answer, but I'm not sure that Super User it's a good fit! |

Software to measure arc length/perimeter I've seen in some other answers that 3D question are off topic. I could be interested anyway in some program for arc length measurement on a 2D image (but if you have suggestion for 3D it's better ;) ) |
