comment What’s the right character for an apostrophe?
Good answer. I personally prefer the curly version but it looks awful in the Arial font so I opt for straight ones.

comment First client's partner demands free website redesign, wants deposit returned - moral dilemma
@user568458 the new title sounds like a headline in the local newspaper! Better than the old one but it also has a sort of 'Dear agony aunt' vibe.

comment How to work on multiple canvas sizes non-destructively
Using File > Save for web.. you can specify the output size regardless of the canvas size inside your PSD. Work at the highest resolution and then just save it at all the different resolutions from that one file, using save for web.

comment Is it legally ok to show concepts for existing companies?
I think you'd be a lot safer if you changed a few letters in the name making it a spoof/parody. As long as the logo isn't the main focus of the project, I don't think it would detract from your concept. I.e. instead of 'Pepsi' you could do 'Papsi' or 'Popsi'. It would probably be even easier with companies that abbreviate like GSK - instead of 'Glaxo Smith Klein' it could be 'Gecko Smoke Krack', as long as the full name was referenced well. :)

comment Responsive web design is based on screen resolution or screen size?
While not strictly false, the tips you've given are rather context-specific. It would take a big essay to properly explain what you're summarising here. Personally, I've stopped trying to build it from scratch as that's something that is much more efficiently done by a team, not an individual. If you'd like to cut down a lot of the work take a look at Google's material design framework. It greatly simplifies the whole process, and isn't difficult to grasp.

It's a bit patronising that you posted an answer to explain to people who clearly understand this subject much better than you. Additionally, designing for the actual screen size is a bit of a mad idea with 232 different screen sizes last I checked. You should design with thresholds for the screen width (ie. 320px to 480px should look like ...) not specific values. You'll find that it soon begins to spiral out of control if you try to design for specific sizes.

Thank you for your answer. I actually left out important information. While this is a good general answer, I meant to refer to print and web design specifically.

comment How can I make the logo light up against a blurred background?
This is what I was getting at with reducing the blue: i.stack.imgur.com/6oI7X.jpg Although just running the automatic options in the Camera RAW Filter improved it noticeably. I used an iris blur, outer glow on the logo, a brightness layer after the auto adjustments, reduced blue a little with the RAW filter, and slightly increased the size of your logo tagline.

I would suck a lot of blue out of the background photo. I think that's one of the main problems. go-meek's suggestion of more sky seems to look pretty good aswell.

Some semi-older browsers don't support inline SVG code, however all newer browsers do.
