It's simple example. More complex wheel consisting of ~30 elements. Doing that manually once is ok, but if need to be changed, it's hassle. With that said, I think your method is good when there are many thin shapes, so gradient will be barely noticeable.

try to create another slice very close to the one you are resizing so it will snap to it and then you will see the problem

Even that didn't help. It appears that slices are ALWAYS snapping to any slice on current artboard. If anybody can confirm this I will stop searching...
