What's the point of converting RGB images to CMYK TIF/TIFF before placing them in InDesign? Thanks for your input! Yes, I'm with you that colout changes should be done as late as possible, if at all necessary. |

What's the point of converting RGB images to CMYK TIF/TIFF before placing them in InDesign? @PhilipRegan The thing is the final output is going into both colour spaces (CMYK for print, RGB for web etc.). Would you still suggest to convert RGB images to CMYK early in the workflow? I doubt that this would result in better overall quality. I'm with Alan here. Staying on RGB until the last step (handing over to the printer for proofing and printing) sounds like it makes more sense, mostly because every conversion will result in loss of quality. |

What's the point of converting RGB images to CMYK TIF/TIFF before placing them in InDesign? Thanks everyone for your input, it's really appreciated! The question, though, is not whether we should hand over a RGB or a CMYK PDF to the printer but whether the design agency should convert the retouched photos/images to CMYK beforehand, before it is even placed into InDesign. And I think the answer is no. |

What's the point of converting RGB images to CMYK TIF/TIFF before placing them in InDesign? Thanks! So how would you go about telling the agency and our print designers? |
