Hello, I'm a Designer and Front-End Developer. I design and build front end systems and interfaces for the web, and graphics and layout for print. I work full-time for a wonderful organization called appendTo.
I write some times, teach, speak and have some side projects too. I love Jesus, am a proud father and husband, and am also a B-boy, skater, and Steeler fan. I've been to Kenya three times and my Kikuyu name is Mwaura. Sushi is probably my favorite food.
Now that you know so much about me why don't you say hi!

Graphic Design Conferences In my experience finding a good conference that focuses on both web design and graphic design is going to be difficult. I was at Photoshop World in February, but that conference tended to focus way more on Photoshop for Photography than anything else. And I just got back from an excellent conference called Front End Design Conference. It was an excellent web design conference, but no focus on print design. You may want to look into attending a couple conferences that specialize in one or the other. |

How do you make image masks? Your question seems to be about making a hexagon shape, but the title is about image masks. Please either reword your title, or adjust your question to make them coherent. |

What's up with the one-page website design fad? Shauna, while I am familiar with the horizontally scrolling sites, I'm not familiar with the others you are referring to. I can however point you to a half dozen of those I'm talking about off the top of my head. (see edits above) |

Clickable stickers sticking out of a notebook Just realized you have the "some link" part, and the facebook/twitter parts. My answer is regarding the "some link" part specifically. |

How can I paint with 90% opacity over existing areas on a layer mask without increasing the opacity? There are always multiple ways to accomplish anything in Photoshop. Can you try to explain what the end effect is you are trying to accomplish? That might help us understand your question a little more, and give you an answer to get you to the end result. Also, it would be helpful if you could provide a screenshot for an example. |

How can I design a simple logo without any prior skill in graphic design? Agreed - creation of your logo in a vector format is very important for scalability and usage at different resolutions. |
