Hello, I'm a Designer and Front-End Developer. I craft user experiences. I'm a GitHubber.

I write some times, teach, speak and have some side projects too. I love Jesus, am a proud father and husband, and am also a B-boy, skater, and Steeler fan. I've been to Kenya three times and my Kikuyu name is Mwaura. Sushi is probably my favorite food.

Now that you know so much about me why don't you say hi!

You could also use InDesign.

I'd love to know what output device has 2000dpi??

comment How can I remove a space between two words and still make it accessible?
Probably is the best way to accomplish this, since CSS doesn't affect how Google sees your page or screen readers. And it's most appropriate because the markup is still semantically meaningful, while the CSS is only affecting presentation.

Not "ex", "em". Em is the relative measurement to the width of the inherited font-size.

Since this has to do with code, I'm not sure why it was migrated to the Graphic Design forum.

comment Illustrator: Opacity Mask doesn't scale (i.e. follow vector art when scaling up/down)
That will do it every time. Same thing in Photoshop, too.

Ugh. Sadly - no.

you can also specify distances in pixels in Illustrator.

comment Illustrator: Border effect for a path
Sadly it doesn't appear there is. Unless you tinker with Offset Stroke some - although I've had a heck of a time really understanding how it works.

comment How do I create symmetrical curves on vector shapes in Photoshop?
This is the point where I get frustrated with Adobe for making software that is supposed to appeal to the broadest possible audience, rather than a truly remarkable tool that can fairly easily accomplish any technical task you throw at it.

comment Photoshop produce a specific effect
Also. to achieve the level of random lighting that the actual diamonds have, instead of one diamond, you could do four, or six, and make some of them seem to shine brighter.

Sorry Jack, I'm not understanding your question. What do you mean by how to "roll in"?? Do you mean how to join their site as an author? And thank you for the kind words.

comment Graphic Design Conferences
In my experience finding a good conference that focuses on both web design and graphic design is going to be difficult. I was at Photoshop World in February, but that conference tended to focus way more on Photoshop for Photography than anything else. And I just got back from an excellent conference called Front End Design Conference. It was an excellent web design conference, but no focus on print design. You may want to look into attending a couple conferences that specialize in one or the other.

comment How do you make image masks?
Your question seems to be about making a hexagon shape, but the title is about image masks. Please either reword your title, or adjust your question to make them coherent.

Shauna, while I am familiar with the horizontally scrolling sites, I'm not familiar with the others you are referring to. I can however point you to a half dozen of those I'm talking about off the top of my head. (see edits above)

Just realized you have the "some link" part, and the facebook/twitter parts. My answer is regarding the "some link" part specifically.

comment How can I paint with 90% opacity over existing areas on a layer mask without increasing the opacity?
There are always multiple ways to accomplish anything in Photoshop. Can you try to explain what the end effect is you are trying to accomplish? That might help us understand your question a little more, and give you an answer to get you to the end result. Also, it would be helpful if you could provide a screenshot for an example.
