comment New generation of Save icon that is not a “disk”?
This answer answers my question when I see some oddly designed UI and ask myself what the hell have they been thinking. This answer here just answers this question: Nothing! They've been high on dope most of the time, while occasionally writing a line of code or two. :) Imagine Microsoft Office programs having these kind of icons. I bet toolbars would extinct in favour of menus.

This looks more like a backup icon than save. Backups are used to put your volatile data in a safe...

comment Is it possible to tell from a printed sample what software/layout algorithm was used?
@e100: I wouldn't be so sure. I've been a member there for years and I think that for a Q&A type of questions Stackexchange is a much better choice. But you could open a debate about this on typophile.com

comment Using CamelCase in a logo
@e100: That's true, but this invalid naming has appeared lately. Pascal and Camel casing has been around since I can remember and they were very much distingushed in times of C. PascalCase for instance is invalidly calles as Capitalised camel case... That's just as if you call a bus a car with 30+ seats. Everything has a name for a reason. This is a bit extreme. I just wanted to point this out.

This is exactly the shadow displayed in the image in question. Not best shadow but seems quite fine.

To make shadow even more realistic, you should create an alpha channel with a gradient black on sides and white on centre and then rather use Lens Blur. This will make shadow more realistic ba visually blurring more at the middle (because as it seem the object is rased more at centre than sides) and almost no blur on edges (object lays down)

Camel case doesn't start with an upper case letter but rather with a lower case so it would be correctyl camelCase and not CamelCase. The latter is called PascalCase

comment Can digital presses print right up to the edge of a sheet?
@e100: Yes inkjets can print to the edge of physical paper sheet. I have one that does. And yes some ink gets wasted/printed over the edge of paper to achieve it.

comment How to get this design in photoshop?
This one actually isn't really realistic, because shadows tend to get sharper when close to original object. In the upper example that's not the case.

I know that. Maybe I wasn't clear enough. Is it possible to print to the actual paper edge. Not bleeding and then crop results.
