How do you create a new document from a layer group that's also the size of the group? Ah that worked, I thought that I was doing that originally, but there are couple tricks in there - you need to Shift-Ctrl-Click the thumbnails of the layers, not the layers, even though they highlight when you click the layer. Then you need to Copy Merged, because regular Copy is disabled. Anyway, thanks again, this is a good trick, kinda like performing surgery (no one at my office new about it :) |

How do you create a new document from a layer group that's also the size of the group? I see. This has almost gotten me there! Thanks for your help. The image (button) I'm trying to copy has effects on it - a stroked border and a drop shadow. So when I make the new document from the thumbnail selection, it's slightly smaller than the image in the grouped layers. |

How do you create a new document from a layer group that's also the size of the group? Thanks, this is helpful and similar to what I was doing, but I realized the problem is that I don't have raster layers for a lot of the groups I'm working with. Do you know any similar tricks that work without a raster layer? I've been duplicating the group I need into a new doc, which makes a doc the full size of the original, then cropping out the area I want manually. |
