Whether or not you should go with a line drawing depends on what you are going for. There are so many styles you could go for... Still, I felt that I should try to explain why I personally would not even bother with it. So here's a time-lapse video of me painting that pier looking thing ( That's how I saw it anyways... ). Since I paint so heavily on top of the sketch, the line drawing would just be extra work that isn't needed. I didn't finish it cause I got a huge headache while painting that, so I figured that would be enough.

Sadly I couldn't figure out a way to get rid of that resize that you always have to do if you want to fill the selection, instead of just fitting the image to it. It would totally be possible with a script though.

That will never happen. What you could do is sketch with, for example a blue pencil and ink in the clean lines. Fading out different colored lines is easy in photoshop, but you can't magically make it draw clean lines for you or remove lines that make the sketch messy.

You could mask it, but I would probably make a new comp with the dimensions of the green area and then drag it to the main comp as a footage. On a somewhat unrelated note, maybe this could be useful to you: graphicdesign.stackexchange.com/questions/31207/…

comment How do I export a sliced psd file as a single jpeg image optimized for web?
In the Save for web dialog, after you click Save…, you'll get another window, and at the bottom you'll find a dropdown menu: Format: Image only. You should change that to Format: Html and images. The html file is the thing that will contain the images all stitched up and links in correct places. If you do want to save a single image instead of 6 individual ones, you will have to delete the slices, save and write the html file yourself.

Typically you drop the opacity of your sketch layer and draw clean lines on top of it in a new layer. Although, if you are planning to paint it, it might be useless to draw the clean lines. Because depending on the style, you might be painting over the lines anyways.

comment Using the pen tool to draw curved lines whilst staying at anchor points?
You could make this type of shape like this: 1. Make a square Shape with Rectangle toolor Rounded rectangle tool. 2. Edit > Transform > Warp 3. From the Warp toolbar Warp: inflate and then adjust the Bend amount to suit your needs.

comment How to solve an issue of repetition in a layout?
I like the way Dropbox website does it. It pretty much works like the file managers: Explorer (Windows) and Finder (Mac) do it. Right-click gives you list of functions, such as: delete, rename, move, etc.... You can select multiple items with Ctrl or Cmd and Shift click to perform mass operations. And when you do select multiple items, a toolbar appears above the list or on the top of the viewport. Other similar sites use the arrow method instead of right-click or in addition to that and the checkbox method instead or ctrl or cmd and shift selection or in addition to that.

comment Export layer coordinates - Sketch 3
I personally find the position information to be kinda useless. For example: Photoshop gives you the position, but it uses absolute positioning. Since you don't normally position every element like that, this information is pretty much useless. It just won't play well with other elements. Even if PS gave me the position in margins or paddings instead, I would most likely have to adjust them anyways because it's very likely that I have some padding in the parent element.

comment import pages from photoshop to indesign
Typically when working with Indesign, you pretty much create every graphical element in Indesign or Illustrator and edit photos in Photoshop or Lightroom even. That is how you should probably do it in the future, but if you've already made it in photoshop, you should probably do as you were thinking. If I understood correctly, you want to essentially remove/hide text from your photoshop files and import the psd documents to indesign. Not the most ideal, but quite fine in this case. You'll still benefit from indesign page handling, if nothing else.
