@Scott that doesn't answer the question though. One second I'm making a picture to explain better, or if you read the last sentence of my paragraph it might explain.

@Scott oh didn't know you could use decimals there. Doesn't answer the question though :\

comment What makes a matte color?
No, it doesn't. What is a matte color? Matte is a material finish related to luminance and reflectivity. The same blue can be matte or can be glossy based entirely on how it handles external light. In a 2D representation this could be shown as a gradient for example. But colors, by themselves, aren't matte.

comment How would you represent distance graphically?
Well I can't answer your question of course. As for the second point maybe you can't tell and I wasn't clear but the right bars are currently in a faded state (think I did 40% opacity) as you get closer those bars would appear to light up (opacity 100) @JasonC

@JasonC Not sure I follow you, but if I do understand correctly than I don't agree. I don't view it as bigger end being what you want. I see it as bigger end further enforcing the idea of separation while the smaller end helps to enforce a point of convergence.

@Scott I could see that. Might be confused because I can't stop looking at the first one which doesn't make sense.

You're talking on the second, "Distance" one, not the first "Far/Close" one?

Color adjustment helps but the circle much more so. Distance between moving objects needs a point of convergence to make much sense IMO

This rep ain't just for the good looks @Vincent - just don't know if Sam did that in which case this might be a technical support issue.

You know you still have to select the color range inside the replace tool right? I mean you don't even really need to select it with marquee, or you could select it with marquee and paste it onto a new layer to isolate it, then replace the color on the duplicate layer..
