I've got no idea what you're asking, how it relates to design, or how to help you.

@plainclothes please address your concern in this meta discussion, it wasn't my decision: meta.graphicdesign.stackexchange.com/questions/2548/…

comment Do web designers use the standard IAB web advert sizes when adding banners?
The IAB routinely updates their ad sizes to try and keep up with what companies like Google, Bing, and other content publishers are seeking such as newly revised Rising Stars dimensions.

@Novina your comment makes no sense to me. New document in Illustrator, change unit to pixel, enter 16x16.. I can see everything just fine :\

comment Indicate that text is a proper noun (such as a product name)
Fair enough, but we don't even know if you're designing an ad, a website, a text document, etc. Even a general solution needs more information IMO than what you provided

comment Indicate that text is a proper noun (such as a product name)
There's thousands if not millions of ways to do this depending on the larger composition. There's also ways to say this more effectively without confusion. If you provide some more information this could be an interesting question but as it stands I think its too broad. I would at least start by capitalizing the entire name if the full name is, "Delightful Apple Cake"

Try all options in pathfinder, come back if you still can't figure it out.

comment How to create matte black paper on Photoshop?
It's going to be hard to recreate it without lighting and perspective. The one you posted in your question has almost no texture and is mostly lighting. And by lighting I mean gradient

Post a picture of your best attempt and what you don't like about it. It'll be easier for us to help you from that point then write up an entirely new tutorial, just for you, that might also not get the exact results you're after.

comment How to create matte black paper on Photoshop?
Yes, yes I would. Bet others do to. But I'm not telling unless you show some effort. What have you tried, why didn't it work?

comment How do I italicize fonts that don't have an italic variant in Illustrator?
We can split the difference and go with an 8.5° shear, but then we'll have to completely rethink the kerning. Perhaps a -7.625 would be best at that point? @Scott
