comment Simple 3D Renders
As it stands this is a very broad question. Photoshop, AutoCAD, Rhino, FormZ, Illustrator, Modo can all do the above image among many other software packages. I'd also point out that the image you posted doesn't look Cel Shaded at all. Voting to close as too broad. If you can edit the question to be something answerable then I'm happy to retract or vote to reopen.

comment How to draw sugar with a pencil
Not sure why this got a downvote, I actually agree with it 100% which is more than the illustrations that could easily be salt. Context makes a world of difference.

Sugar should be much more refined. This looks like salt. IMO

Check the settings again. Preferences -> Smart Guides -> Construction Guides -> 90 & 45 ---- alternatively you can always draw any path and convert it to guide just by right clicking on the path.

comment How do I make “realistic” long shadows (flat design)
Instead of drawing a square, draw the shape how you want it and apply a gradient fill instead of a solid color fill.

Then I'm really not sure what the problem. Its just a gradient. What are you struggling with?

comment On dynamic identities
Hi, there's a lot of potential in this question but also too many questions and some not on-topic for our site. Really I think it would be best to only ask "What are the differences.." and maybe ask if anyone has some additional sources to check out. Beyond that the questions of opinion and designer role are "primarily opinion-based" and off topic for our site. IMO. Voting to close until edits are made.

comment What methods can I use to create balance and consistency between a group of differing logos?
I generally work in print ads, I can design it however I want as long as it fits the content. Typically any sort of solid footer though would be for our contact information, the logos are generally organizations we're members of and would be placed elsewhere with less emphasis

Nice answer, what if the logos don't have text or very different text? The actual logos I most frequently work with one has 3 letters in Sans Serif, one has large Sans Serif plus smaller Serif text beneath, and a third has a circle with only text inside the circle. This shoe thing was just a quick example.

@DA01 I know there might not be a great solution but still suspect some have tips to do it well which is all I expect from answers. Dom's for example seems like a nice method to go about it.

comment What is an “alpha value of black”?
How does this answer what the "Alpha value of black" is? I'm not familiar with that terminology either and this doesn't clarify it IMO. Your Black Square has an Alpha Value of 100% (1), but what is an Alpha Value of Black? Say on the Red Square how would you give it an Alpha Value of Black?

We're not really in a position to make you a step by step tutorial on something like this. Should try a Search Engine and then if you get stuck on a particular point of an existing tutorial we're here to help.

comment Would a minimalist collage still be a collage?
@Scott I disagree, I think how Faizan creates it would play a role but I can certainly imagine really interesting ways to make a minimalist collage
