When did books start using underlines? @DA01, "proper" typesetting or not, that is a typical example of underlines in a published work. When did those start occurring? |

Heading numbering without threading? Out of curiosity, why don't you want text boxes to be threaded? |

When did books start using underlines? Here's a typical example of where I've seen underlines in published works: books.google.com/books?id=72ArAAAAYAAJ |

When did books start using underlines? @e100, are you looking for an example of a book with underlines, or a book without? |

When did books start using underlines? @plainclothes, it's a real question. I know I've seen 20th century books using underlines, and I'm pretty sure I've never seen a 17th century book using them. Hopefully someone can narrow it down a bit more. |

can i add these features to photoshop somehow…or can it be done & i just dont know Try breaking this question up into separate questions for each feature. As it is, it's a big collection of questions that no one else is likely to find useful. |

Is this an effect or a type of font?text-shadow support is actually pretty good. All the modern browser versions support it, and the more recent versions of everything but IE support is as well. |

Is this a photo or 3D render, and how would I give a photo a similar effect? Post a regular link to the file, not a shortened one. Many people are wary of clicking on blind links. |

How to add catchwords using InDesign @plainclothes, I'm writing the manual for a 1700s-based board game, and all the little details together have helped evoke the period. |

Get a vector path from Photoshop to Inkscape or SVG Here's what I've found about these: SVG Kit is only for importing SVG into Photoshop (rasterizing everything), SVG Import/Export Converter is a plugin for another program (VGEdit), psd.js looks like an abandoned project, and the online converter rasterizes everything. |

What is a “sprite”? If you vote a question down, leave a comment explaining why. This helps people ask better questions, and it's just plain courteous. |

What's the best way to make a curly brace used for grouping items together? You're alluding to the real problem in your third paragraph, that merely scaling the curly brace would change its apparent weight/thickness. |

What's the best way to make a curly brace used for grouping items together? @DA01, notice how (in the pictures I linked to) the braces expand to encompass more text? Yes, they're basically the standard { character, but expanded. |
