Hello.

My name is Willow Marsden and I’m a freelance graphic designer.

I also run a forum for people with Aspergers Syndrome, and do YouTube videos to try and help others on the Autistic Spectrum. I myself has Aspergers, Dyspraxia and ADD. At the moment I'm in the middle of writing my second book, which is about coping with Aspergers Syndrome, and life before the diagnosis.

In my spare time I enjoy taking photos; I love my Canon Kiss X4 and take it everywhere with me. I used to draw and paint all the time, but that shifted into graphic design using Photoshop.

Thanks for that, it's still a bit annoying but at least I can stay on the same layer now :)

comment Google Web Fonts or Typekit?
So for a small business or for websites that are more of a part time job/hobby, would we say Google Web Fonts? I remember reading one comment about Typekit having its fair share of downtime, but I'm not sure how old the comment was.

It works fine Illustrator CS5.5 on Windows 7. What operating system are you on - also it may be different for Macs.

comment What do I do when I quote a price for a design but the client keeps asking for revisions and redesigns?
One guy kept complaining that he shouldn't pay if he isn't happy (I'm in the UK, he in the USA and he complained I was taking too long), and it wasn't necessarily that I didn't get to keep the deposit per say, but I had another job he owed me for and he didn't pay enough, sort of still leaving me short of what I quoted. I had to refund someone as well for a similar situation, ie, not happy with the work (or more accurately, not happy that I wouldn't do more than I said I would for the price) but, it was through Paypal and they'd have been able to get it back via a dispute anyway.

That's a good way to do it, thanks :)

Wow, thanks. An excellent answer. That's pretty much everything I could have wanted to know regarding the contract side of things. I do need to get something written up. And I feel more confident about doing it now, so thanks :)

Thanks for the great answer, I guess I just need to be more firm with them. Most of them are males with business enterprises (so they say) and I'm a little 19 year old girl, so it just becomes a little difficult. Your answer is very helpful though. It's good to know that it's okay to be giving them contracts stating this, that and the other, to cover my ass should they want to bail. Thanks :)

comment Beginner Web Designer
Yeah, the more you do it, the more you will be able to look at a design and see it for what it's made up of...when I see a website, I can picture in my mind all the elements that make it, drop shadows, strokes etc and which tools were used to create certain parts. But when you've hardly done any web designs, you just see an awesome design and wonder where on earth to start. browse.deviantart.com/?qh=&section=&q=website+design#/… < This is a fairly basic design you could try and copy.

comment If I make a design in RGB mode and then change it to CMYK how will it look when it's printed?
Thank you for all your help. My client has took it to the printers so fingers crossed I got it right in the end. Thanks again
