comment CMYK JPEGs extracted from PDF appear inverted
You need to add a Decode array of "0 1 0 1 0 1 0 1" to remap all the channels. Where do you add it? I've got no idea. Maybe to the inhouse image extractor, or to the jpegs in the PDF..

comment Why Illustrator CS5 Expand breaks my shape?
I'm not gonna participate in free program developement for something that costs more than spacetravelling. They can do their own gruntwork ;)

comment When I export an image from Illustrator, why is it a slightly different color in the exported image?
Is it inside the Gamut Range? At least CS5 version of Illustrator forces CMYK colors to be inside the Gamut Range by default.

Whoa, cool.. Sure does require use of Actions to make it a bearable process.

comment Transparency to unpremultiplied RGB + Alpha
.png has a predefined palette color for 100% transparent black, which will propably be used (by photoshop) whenever theres 100% transparency just to save some diskspace.

comment Photoshop or Illustrator OR …
Kinda, yeah, but, no. I mean.. Yeah, sure, if you're ready to work your textures in photoshop and then apply them to Vector stuff, where you still hit the roof with scaling, and the benefits are questionable. The real problem being the quality that vector tools today provide are nowhere near the raster tools. I mean, when it comes to digital painting, and 2D graphic effects and manipulation, Photoshop still provides the ultimate results. You can and should use it in co-operation with Illustrator, but you shouldn't rely on Illustator alone just because you can avoid redoing stuff that way..

comment How do I edit multiple layers at once?
There are numerous advantages to this. 1. You can resize the smart object, and layer styles within the smart object scale too. 2. You can apply "smart effects" on it, that don't really mess about with the contents, rather the projection of the said PSD file. 3. As mentioned, you can still edit the insides of the smart object as freely as you would have before converting it. Only downside being the separate editing and 'committing'. +1 for the only proper way around it ;-)

comment Are Macs preferable to PCs for handling graphics software?
@ghoppe: You missed the ethical point dude, Apple and Microsoft are monster companies, so the less I pay them alltogether the better. I already mentioned how stuff like installing things is easier on Mac so no point repeating me, I just don't find it worth the money because it's no hassle for me anyway.

comment New generation of Save icon that is not a “disk”?
Just the typical V shaped "Accepted" sign should be enough. Typically colored green. We use text based buttons for every other action that requires "Accepting" anyway, because they need to inform the user what do we accept. (+1 for the first idea there, tho it looks rough and the pen is too much to be standard.)

comment Photoshop: Animated PNG?
@DA01 that'd be a shame. It's a great idea because it supports alpha and practically lossless animations without taking too much space. For small images, that is.

comment Learning to draw: start in the pen and paper realm or the digital space?
I would have said the same. I'd also stress that tablet feels different than pen, because you're watching the screen and drawing at the tablet. Nothing more painful than having to learn the same thing twice. If you're aiming at drawing with the tablet, you should go for it. I didn't do cave paintings before I started to draw with pencils, no need for history. I've drawn with pencils over 20 years and I still think it's unnecessary process if you don't need it.

Oh yeah I know, I know. I was thinking if you had a quick way to offer for saving individual frames as separate files.

comment Photoshop: Animated PNG?
Yes, but if the gifs need Photoshop attention, e.g., resizing (Photoshop resize is usually superb compared to conversion tools) and are already animated.

comment Photoshop: Animated PNG?
Yeah, what would be the quickest and simplest way to do that? Let's say I'm dealing with 100 gifs that need to be APNG.
