comment Web Development programs for Macs
I'm a web developer and I use Webstorm at work. But this question isn't really design related, and is kind of broad.

comment Smart object image is blurred
While scaling? That makes sense to me. I don't know that PS renders it in better quality until after you've finished the transform.

comment What is the font used in the www.whitehouse.gov Presidential portraits?
Do you actually need the source font or are you just wanting to create another presidential image and number it? If the latter then you could extract the numbers and fake it.

comment Can anyone suggest a free alternative to Corbel font for web use
I know it's not what you want to hear, but if it's really that important that the font not really look any different then why not just pay to use Corbel? From MyFonts it costs 120 dollars for Corbel, Corbel Italic, Corbel Bold, and Corbel Bold Italic for up to 250,030 page views. Assuming this is a personal site, 250,030 page views will last a long time (most likely) or if it's for a business then they should be able to cover the fee. Alternatively you'll have to settle for a font that just doesn't have the exact same feel as every font is unique.

Could you include a screenshot of the page as well, as your test page will not be around forever? Thanks.

comment What are those things in text design?
If you look at the image @go-me posted you'll see at least one example of such a font :)

comment True Type and Open Types fonts - should I install both for any given font?
@Rafael is there one that's better to install than the other? Also you should post an answer :)

comment Uniting two shapes of different colors in Photoshop
That's because when you unite two shapes they become one, and one shape cannot have multiple colors (without creative gradients)

comment What should I choose for an icon for “praise”?
You can use stars for favorite as well, instead of heart. I wouldn't say "obviously a heart icon represents favorite".

You mean like Adobe Color?

comment Single 1 pixel diagonal line background
I'm voting to close this question as off-topic because it seems to be more of a stackoverflow question -- or in very very least not a graphic design related question.

comment Is there a name for the type of photography or layout where items are arranged on a grid?
I didn't actually know the name until just a minute ago when I decided to do some in-depth research. So I learned something new as well!

comment Making text stand out in front of images
You need to either darken the underlying images, add strokes or shadows to the text, or use a heavier font -- or a combination of all of those.

Maybe it would help if you posted this image with a background that wasn't white?

comment is there a pictogram for 'default' or 'leave like it is' - like there is for save (disc) or print (printer)?
This is also a very good recommendation.

comment What is the math behind gradient map in photoshop?
I'm voting to close this question as off-topic because it doesn't seem like a design question but rather a mathematical or programming question.

That's fine. Glad to hear I could help out.

comment Adobe Photoshop CS6 - How to resize image but keep text sharp
If the text is a text layer in Photoshop it will not get blurry on resize. If it's part of the image it will get blurrier just like the rest of the image.
