In your second example your purple was made to look more blue through the use of a very bright purple. Then in your yellow example you're butting yellow of whites, grays, and blacks. So what I'm saying is you need to use yellows instead to make your yellow appear the same on different backgrounds.

Jan 18	comment	What to change on this webpage, to look more elegant I'd tuck them in on the side of the gray box and have them peek out when you hover over them, or make them tabs at the top of the box, or have the "Portfolio" part of the menu expand to show a sub-menu. I would also recommend making your gray box white and maybe add a subtle texture.
