I've voted to close as duplicate.

comment How to create a fade to transparent gradient effect in Illustrator?
This was tagged as illustrator for the beginning. Good note on the single color gradient though, that's good information.

comment What shading technique/effect was used in this calligraphy?
@Gin-San. Great question -- I've edited my answer to explain why you don't see the person in the photograph.

comment How to create a solid color background for a brush drawing?
This is probably the quickest solution. Flattening the layers isn't necessary (and in fact I'd advise against it). Instead I'd "sample all layers" with the magic wand. That way you can easily clean up any weird edges with the eraser.

comment How to create/draw this text box shape in Photoshop?
There are quite a few ways of doing this. I'd recommend looking into masks, shape transforms, and the pen tool. Also if you have access of Illustrator you will have an easier time doing this sort of stuff there.

comment What shading technique/effect was used in this calligraphy?
Yes, I've added some additional details, but it's really straightforward if you understand the way cameras work with light. If you have a camera of your own that can control shutter speed this effect is very easy to reproduce.

It doesn't matter if it's English, Arabic, a horse, or anything else painted with light, they are all made the same way with light.

It's not natural light. It's light from a flashlight or phone or other artificial light source.

If that's true could you provide proof that they designer used software for this?

Then they turn on/off the light during the picture to form the shapes. It's still 100% light and 100% photograph.

The "effect" was made using a light, the rotation of said light influences the shape of the "calligraphy" there is no letter design in the photo.

Just out of curiosity, is string an accepted term outside of computer science?

comment To which extent is the designer responsible of a responsive design?
I would assume you either have a designer or a web designer, not both, or at least not on the same team. A web designer is still very much a designer except that they specialize in web interfaces rather than other graphic work.

Just noticed this answer. Wanted to let you know that the script has this functionality built into it (and so much more now).

Unfortunately, there's no way that I know of that this is possible. It's bothered me for years.

comment How to tile a pattern in Illustrator?
If you look at the square you've placed at the center of the group you should be able to see that it would not line up properly once tiled.

comment Maybe icons should represent the action instead of the medium / device?
@nocomprende, I think it's still too much of a discussion rather than a question, therefore I don't think this is the right place for this discussion. You're welcome to go to the chat and talk to others there once you have 20 points.
