You've got a pretty good start. I think what you're missing is an actual shadow on the wire. Because without it, it just looks flat, but the shadow underneath is good in my opinion!

The only problem I see with this issue is that if you have 15 artboards and the order is 15, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 1 then this will take some time.

I'm not sure I understand, doesn't ALT-clicking give you the "incoming handle?" What do you mean by incoming/outgoing? could you link to an image maybe?

If you're designing for screens you should be using pixels. Pixels are the only measurement to stay constant across screens. Also ppi is irrelevant on screens, only dimensions matters.

The problem with human writing pixel size is that it varies from person to person. Not only does each individual vary in how they write but also is how their eyes read in information. Some people have better eye resolution than other people. This is why it's advisable to get your eyes calibrated so you know you're seeing things properly.

I would imagine that it's printed on transparent sheet, but you would still need to lower the opacity of your artwork to the proper transparencies. After all, they can't possibly predict what should be transparent and how transparent it should be. But this is just an education guess, I've never done this kind of printing before.
