comment Bootstrap buttons - text hard to read?
@DmitriZaitsev if your concern is quality font rendering and overall presentation, just load the Open Sans webfont. Minimal added site weight, complexity is a one time upload, and browsers are only expanding webfont support now. If you don't care about any of that, why even spec 'Open Sans' at all - - just use sans-serif and let the user decide.

@DmitriZaitsev if you're concerned about reliability, local fonts are about as bad as it gets. Honestly, just download the font and host with your site files. Then the fonts only go down when the site does.

@DmitriZaitsev Google has actually been pretty stable with their services. But the fonts are mostly (all?) open source, so you can download and install them wherever you like. Some of them are on FontSquirrel too.

Well, it's pretty hard to find an example of it in use these days. It used to be the Mac Finder font, several OS X generations ago. I would simply test it in context against other options. Considering that you can use the ones I listed for free, you've got nothing to lose.

@DmitriZaitsev I expanded my answer a bit to emphasize the need to customize. Bootstrap never wanted you to use those defaults. For the record, I wouldn't use Lucida Grande either. It was designed for a different era of displays and tends to look clunky in a modern environment.

comment Material Design Colors fit
Material gives you a broad spectrum of color recommendations, but you aren't limited to them. In this case, your buttons look deactivated because they are a fade of your primary color. Read up on the many questions here on color-theory and come back when you have a more specific question.
