Branding and UX designer. Obsessive typophile. Color theory junkie. I spend my days mediating the treaty between logic and creativity.

Kinda sorta. I still miss them for helping me find anchors, among other awesome things.

Smart Guides are awesome! But they don't work in the Pixel Preview view mode. Has CS6 fixed this?

Glad I could help. Seems like my actual answer was useless to you. I hope others find it helpful :)

When you Save for Web just un-check the Transparency option. Are you even trying this in Photoshop?

Adobe changed the name again in CS6: Apparently, it's back to just Save for Web again.

We're going to need more info. If you want to do the opposite of your original question, you save with Save for Web & Devices ... and uncheck the transparency option.

Your question says you are trying to make it transparent. Your comment says your trying to remove transparency. I'm confused. Where are you getting that message? Sounds like a service that doesn't support transparency.

Just to clarify, I'm not talking about people looking for employment, I'm talking about freelancers. In a freelance context, even when contracting with agencies, I have never been asked for a diploma or even my resume. And none of my associates have either, to best of my knowledge. When they see your work, they'll know all they need to know.

A great place? Meh. And if you plan to work on contract, no one really cares about degrees, just your work. Degrees are for corporate jobs.

Don't misunderstand me: schools are fine, I just happen to think they're a little overrated at this point in history. Most people I know have learned more being in the market than they ever got out of education. Myself included. I wouldn't trade my education, I just don't think it's a prerequisite for success.

But filtering, interpreting, and maybe deviating completely from what the client asks for is something that comes with time. Early on you're likely to work with lower end clients. You're going to give them a good deal for what is essentially portfolio/experience building. It's going to be very hard to coerce the client to trust your instinct when you don't have any proof of concept.
