comment Photoshop CS5 Type Tool frustration!
Sounds like a bug to me... What I would try is to make sure your cache memory and/or RAM isn't near full, use Edit > Purge to clear cache memory. Otherwise, a re-install of Photoshop might help.

comment Critique: Does this logo portray a web-based control for a media player?
A bit off-topic, but I wouldn't recommend sharing this kinda stuff before its officially part of a product of company. The reason is that people might steal it, and have copyright on it before yours does.

comment Happy birthday, Mac. How to achieve canvas logo animation like this one?
Yep, that's the technique I had in mind. And thanks for the tip, I wasn't aware of the fact that Flash could convert it to html5! :D

comment How do I achieve this gradient effect on type in Illustrator?
I think the crux in this question is how the gradients follow the shape, instead of just overlapping the picture/shape as a whole from one side to another.

comment How can I write requirements for a graphic designer?
One last remark though: your friend is not the only one who says something like make-me-something-like-X-but-different-approach, it's partly the designer's job to find out the important parts. This means that you don't have to worry too much about every single detail.

If your friend is thinking in a make-me-something-like-X-but-different way like you describe, he needs to explode this thought into details: what does he like about X so much that makes him want something similar? This is what he'd want to communicate towards the designer.

I agree with DA01, the goals and objectives are the most important aspects that the designer needs to know all about. Not every aspect of a design is based on just this, but that's where the designer's creative mind has to play part.

Sorry, but for me and others who don't live in your country: What is AA? A high school degree?
