comment How to conceptualise and generate visualisations with many points interconnected via Bézier curves?
I feel this is a bit of a broad question. You are asking basically how to do the entire project from concept, design through software development. And there certainly isn't one answer to you question. See it from this point: if I'd ask you "what have you tried?", what could you possibly answer?

comment Which brush to use for creating art like in the videogame “Braid”?
I am sure many are. It depends on the artist. I suggest you find/create some, try them out and see what works for you. It depends heavy on your personal style. If you don't know where to find brushes, try googling for photoshop brushes, look at deviantart and similar platforms that offer exchange of resources like that.

comment Change the transparency of an Android stock icon?
The filter is indeed not great. Have you tried simply using a darker red?

It's going to be hard to judge the error you see without seeing an image.

comment My outputted PDF looks different on a Mac to a PC
Have you checked your export settings if they are the same? Have you checked if the linked files are all up to date? In what program are you looking at the output pdf? Are you overwriting older files? Have you tried saving them as new ones and comparing them again?

comment How to convert millimeters to pixel?
the size in pixel depends on the resolution you want to print with, the higher the resolution, the more pixel you get. e.g. for 300 pixel per inch you get 3969x 4807px as a result.

comment Why does Indesign repeat the same photo on its own, over and over?
In short, InDesign does NOT import images (by default at least). If you want two versions of the same image you have provide both images. You can also reference different photoshop layers if you only want to keep only one file.

comment Standard for testing Aesthetic conditions in software
I think it's most important what you are testing it for. Is there a design briefing that needs to be matched? e.g. if it has to look playful and its all in black and white, that' wont work. But more importantly, there should be user stories or use cases. and test cases should relate to those instead of "aesthetics".

comment How to work with image sprites in Photoshop?
Images cannot contain slices as slices are individual images. You can always choose Save as... to save your spritesheet as an image.

comment How to sell a design to a company?
In most cases though they won't. And then you have to decide if the risk is worth it. Chances are they view your idea not that brilliant anyway. Ideally, one would meet and present the idea but not leave any material that would make it easy for them to reproduce it.

I have in fact suggested good equivalents. How is that not answering the question?

comment Photoshop CS6 - Animate / Keyframe Smart Filter
I have faced this problem and the only solution I came to was duplicating the smart object for every keyframe, then changing the filter on each. It was a bit of work but it also has the benefit that the content of the smart object can be exchanged. Ergo, the file is very reusable.

comment What is the best way to create light-weight PNG images?
I realize that. My update was more about batch processing maintaining folder structure. Shrinking one is not an issue (for me), but hundreds is.

comment InDesign CS6 - Update multiple displayed artboard/pages of linked files without relinking
That's not what you asked, really. I design updates the files when it starts up. So that should update your views of the file.

If I remember correctly, all you have to do is close the indesign file, replace/update the AI file and reopen the indesign file.

comment Designing images with dimensioning
Illustrator can be set up somewhat that way. Using a grid and enabling snap to grid helps with units and works a lot better than Photoshop. And objects can be sized precisely. But nothing comes close to drawing for 3D. I tried Rhino for a while for its path operations (fillets, curve control). If I remember correctly it was a lot cheaper than Solidworks or Autodesk programs.

Sorry, I assumed illustrator. Why not copy the path to Illustrator, fix it and then copy it back?

comment How to create a fading effect on the border of an object, with illustrator
You can try abusing the drop shadow tool or build an offset shape with a gradient or gradient mesh. There is always another way. But it's really just experimenting.
