comment Is QuarkXpress still relevant?
In the current day and age it just seems Quark isn't even on the popular radar. I know I follow tons of design accounts on Twitter and can't even recall a time where I've seen someone mentioning Quark. It's all InDesign. If looking at pirating, ID is part of Creative Suite, I'm sure one of the more popular pirated software packages around. Quark is on the outside of that CS workflow and that is the reason for it's loss of market share. Learning Quark in this day and age is like learning WordPerfect instead of MS Word.

comment What are Google Webfonts or Typekit alternatives to Avenir Next Pro?
Just for the sake of saying, Google Web Fonts aren't much different than embedding it yourself on your own server. All they're doing is pointing to a CSS stylesheet that does pretty much the same types of declarations you'd do on your own stylesheet to embed them. Check out this link and you'll see all they're doing is referencing the font from their servers instead of local. fonts.googleapis.com/css?family=Tauri

I'll just throw out something to test as I don't have GIMP, but in PS you can take the picker, click within the document, then hold and drag to elsewhere in the program or OS. So you can capture anything within the viewable screen. Not sure if GIMP can do that, but it might be worth trying. I use that technique all the time.

comment How to make rounded corner thumbnail “ containing image of the post ”?
Use the rounded corners in photoshop to show what you'd like your web person to recreate, then they can create the rounded corners using code. If you are coding the site and not familiar with how to output the code, I suggest something like border-radius.com that would allow you to create the box you want visually, then output the code for you to copy and paste into a stylesheet.

comment InDesign 5.5 Section Numbering
I tried this method and it only changes the page number to letters which isn't what I'm trying to achieve. The markers need to be independent of the page count.

comment InDesign 5.5 Section Numbering
What I wanted was the section has the title "Burford". Then following that there would be 26 alphabetic markers, just "A", not "Burford - A". When I tried using that dialog it just changed the page numbers and not the markers I had created.

So it would be Burford - A, B, C... then Paris A, B, C...
