Dec 2, 2014 at 17:20 | comment | added | Analytic Lunatic | Thanks Zach. I'll get a hold of Illustrator and try out a few examples to see if I think it will work. Appreciate your detailed input, and I'll message you if I have some more questions!

Dec 2, 2014 at 15:43 | comment | added | Zach Saucier | @AnalyticLunatic Here's a tutorial for something similar (it uses a library called Raphael, you could look for one that doesn't use a library - it's not required for this), I don't know of something that walks you through exactly what you're doing. As for the development time, it depends fully on how good you are with the program. I'd assume most of the scripting for the interaction would be done outside of Illustrator, instead being done in whatever you do web development in now
Dec 2, 2014 at 15:38 | comment | added | Analytic Lunatic | Thanks for elaborating Zach. Currently the focus is on on the different stripes/hull/etc, but the seats could be an option. Right now the idea is to present the user with enough of a builder to give them an idea of what their own personal boat could look like. I would like to include a way to save/print the created image if possible. Do you know of any similar (if basic) examples or tutorials for this that could walk me through the process? How long do you think it would take do this in Adobe Illustrator?
