Oct 13, 2022 at 22:06 comment added Wolff @samseurynck, did a quick test of the script in Illustrator 2022 and it seems to work as intended. You must be doing something the script doesn't take into account. Hard to tell what it is. Try making a really simple document with a few paths and see if it works.
Oct 13, 2022 at 20:43 comment added samseurynck I've followed the instructions for the approved answer above and no matter how many points I select it freezes illustrator. Is there an updated version of this for Illustrator CC in 2022?

Feb 6, 2017 at 17:40 comment added Wolff @MicroMachine. I'll see if I can easily implement the "merge overlapped anchors" feature. Maybe also change it so points that are almost overlapping are moved to the mid-point between them instead of just connecting them (as join does it now).
Feb 6, 2017 at 15:53 comment added Wolff @MicroMachine. I didn't implement that feature because it wasn't part of the question. Martin asked for a script that could join individual lines to connected paths - not remove duplicate points. Doesn't my solution or Silly-V's solution answer the question?
Feb 6, 2017 at 12:41 comment added Cai @MicroMachine there is a script "Merge Overlapped Anchors" (and a lot of other useful ones!) in this bundle of scripts that will merge anchors on the same path.
Feb 6, 2017 at 1:56 comment added MicroMachine So the script worked to join paths with overlapping ending and beginning anchor points, but i wasn't able to join overlapping anchor points belonging to the same curve with the script, for example:imgur.com/a/mjXBZ
Feb 4, 2017 at 21:03 comment added Wolff @MicroMachine. Actually you have to copy it to a text editor and save it as a .js file. Then you can select your paths and run the script in File/Scripts/Other script (ctrl+f12).
Feb 4, 2017 at 19:58 comment added MicroMachine How do I use this in Illustrator? Do I have to copy and paste it or save it as a file?
