Is there a suggested optimal width for web images on the new 4K monitors? Someone who's redesigning the site for the company I work for claims that the 770 pixel width images that are in the content should be increased to 1000 pixels to display properly.

What do you think?

I think that task would be very time-consuming without making much of a difference as 1000 pixels would still not be large enough for those monitor resolutions.
