I am in the process of designing a set of icons for my client to offer a full-colour alternative, whereby the gradient has an outline colour, with a fill gradient colour. For example here - https://dribbble.com/shots/2136612-Wedding-Icons

They already have an icon set for their site set up as a font, but offers only 1 fill colour or 1 outline colour. Not a full-coloured icon set.

Due to the performance of the website being so important, they really want to keep the icons as a font and not change this to be SVGs.

I was looking into the emoji keyboard and understand they are treated as glyphs/font, with all emojis having a unique gradient fill. Is this the way to go?

Any recommendations or best practices highly appreciated! Happy to give any further information if needed :)

Thank you, H
