I want to create simple pattern brush using Adobe Illustrator CC but the final product must be Adobe illustrator CS2. After saving it to CS2, it become shape and my brushes in brushes panel gone.

it supposed to look like this https://drive.google.com/file/d/1n_V_-RKPe2FblarFqHNjMicY6511q67B/view?usp=sharing

but after save it to CS2 it became like this (shape) https://drive.google.com/file/d/1q7KLzc7E5Kew0WZ-2Kcs159Js6d2XJxB/view?usp=sharing

I tried many different tutorial from youtube but it doesn't work, why?

Thank you

  • a) I think you're expecting too much to achieve backward compatibility with a 15-year-old app. b) both those images look the same to me.

  • a) yes i agree, but i can't do much since they ask for cs2 for final product. b) visually they look the same, but if you click menu view > outline (ctrl + y) they look different. the CC version look like single line, but the CS2 version look like star and circle shape Sep 25 at 11:13
  • Tell them it hasn't been supported since 2012 & they need to update at their end. Unless they're paying you a fortune to do this job with this specific anachronistic requirement, don't even entertain it. It's their fault they never updated. They're probably still running WinXP too - again; not your problem.

  • i think i can't change much about requirement and i've been working with them about a year but this time is a lil bit difficult Sep 25 at 11:22
  • I think you made a rod for your own back, there. Sorry.
