Open layers panel, create new layer and put on this layer parts of your artwork that are not necessary at the moment. Then turn off visibility of layer. This way these particula objects will not be rendered and you will save on preview rendering time.
Split document to layers, hide layers that you don't need at the moment. Or you can also export parts of the document and then import it to new document as links.
While there is nothing I would not agree with his majesty @scott, from what I see on the images — printhouse sent low-res proof file where edges are as they are because of the jpeg compression of the raster. Nothing to worry about after you have approved quality of the hard proof.
@scott I'm on it. Just didn't had time to check PDF yet as it's not possible to make analysis via phone. There is a solution, but I'm not sure if it's possible in Acrobat without quite expensive plugins.
@scott One of the things with PDF is that there is no particular way to give advice only from screenshot especially in cases when programming/scripting is needed. As you see now there is only unlucky guessing takes place.
Because glyphs can contain any amount of points, but will be called only once as a whole. Data points and their relations to other data points should be recalculated every time you cange your viewport.
I agree with all said before, but also would like to add that every time you ask for something, please also add PDF file so it would be much easier to understand particular case.
