Hi! Can you please provide a little bit more information regarding the printing of this color: 1. Where (which continent on the globe) you will print? 2. On what material you want to print (coated paper, uncoated paper, plastics, etc.)? 3. What kind if technology will be most often be used for printing (offset, digital inkjet, digital toner, office printers, heatset, etc.)?
It's actually not true. If you would share the name and model of the device you want to print on and also RIP or operational software you are using to control the printer, answer would be much easier to get.
I would say that nowdays PDF/X-4 would be much more better idea. And yes, no sepatation is needed from your side, repro inhouse will do that for particular printing press.
On what software are you viewing PDF files? It is very common that default viewers don't support color management. I suggest you to try view files with Adobe Acrobat and came back with results.
Basically it is just a text string. You can modify this string, when exporting from InDesign to PDF in Export as PDF -> Output -> PDF/X -> Output Intent Profile Name
