How can I create an image lookup table (LUT) using an .atn file? I wish to create a custom Lookup filter using GPUImage similar to the AmatorkaFilter

A photo filter based on a Photoshop action by Amatorka: http://amatorka.deviantart.com/art/Amatorka-Action-2-121069631 .

I wish to create an image similar to the one below

  • How many colors do you want to use for your CLUT (Color Look Up Table)? This is kind of important also - what is the final resolution you would like your image to be? 300 pixels per inch?

I wrote a simple Photoshop action which will allow you to:

  1. Clear all of the swatches in your swatches panel.
  2. Duplicate your original image into a new active Photoshop document.
  3. Add noise to the duplicated image to avoid banding when the image gets converted to index mode.
  4. If you will not be using one of the standard Photoshop options for which colors to use in your conversion to index mode, there is a pause in this script allowing you to choose the colors you would like to use to index your image and add them to your swatches panel. These swatches you create must be saved as a separate file through your swatches panel options drop-down menu so they can be loaded as your CLUT when you convert your image to index mode.

Here is a quick screen recording video clip performing the action
